A bit about surfing in Lanzarote

Like its sister islands, Lanzarote has sunny and hot weather all year! This means you can forget about the gloves and hoods through winter and just grab the summer wetty from the back of the cupboard. The best waves in Lazarote are during the winter and often can have a look similar to that of the Hawaiin breaks. Famara beach hosts a sandy beach break whilst further down the road La Santa offers a solid left hand reef break which can produce some hollow A frames.

Surf Camps & Accomodation:

The area:

Arguably the main surfing area is centered around the town called Famara. It is around 35 minutes from the airport and an hour from the main party package holiday areas in the South. As with a large part of the Canaries, this means pace of life does start to slow down. But hey - we are surfers and if you are looking for hectic parties... they are only a drive away. Plus, when the swells starts to hit double/ triple overhead, the thought of partying might get put to back of your mind.
